A brief history lesson:

It all started in the 60s. NRK (The Norwegian State Television and Radio) invested heavily in Northern Norway and flew in a team of acousticians and engineers from the BBC to design their new premises in the heart of Bodø city center.

The work resulted in a unique room with high acoustic qualities that would be hard to find in the rest of the region. 60 years later, there is hardly a single room like this left in Norway. This makes Store Studio unique.

Hønsehuset Lydstudio, established in 1989, moved into its current premises in 2007 and became Store Studio.

Today, the studio contains the still unique recording room from the 1960s, as well as two adjoining recording rooms, a main control room and a smaller neighboring studio that can be used as a fourth recording room during larger recordings.

Since 2007, Store Studio has been home to recordings and projects with artists such as Halvdan Sivertsen, Kråkesølv, Terje Nilsen, Hekla Stålstrenga, Regnvær, and more.
